About Us

Diamond Chess is a result driven organization with a mission to elevate the game of chess throughout the entire country, and also to foster increased interest, participation and enjoyment of the game of chess. Our goal recognizes the cognitive behavioural benefits of chess and we are committed to supporting the continued growth of chess in schools.

What We Do

We take a multi-level approach to promoting the game of chess through:

• Our Scholastic Outreach; spreading the educational benefits of chess to thousands of students all over the nation primarily through our chess in school program

• Chess seminars and group talk shows

• We promote chess at the top levels by hosting events, major competitions and tournaments amongst the nation’s top players.

Our programs and children’s events are designed to foster good sportsmanship, independence, and improved self-image. In an unparalleled and original way, we use the engaging game of chess as a vehicle through which to create positive attitudes about learning. To be sure, the confidence children gain when involved in our programs is a contributing factor to their success not just in chess, but in the social sphere, academics and sports.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster self-confidence and self-esteem in children, and guide them to see that they can make choices, take control of their lives, make plans, set goals, and work hard to achieve them.

When children participate in our programs, they are exposed to all of these benefits, making them more equipped to tackle problems that arise in every facet of their young lives. Our instructors ensure that they create a learning environment that is conducive to building individual friendships as well as team spirit. Time and time again, we see chess serve as a bridge, bringing together children of different ages, tribes and genders in an activity they can all enjoy.

We believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn and play chess, which is why we make every effort to ensure our programs are accessible to everyone.
